Notes - Yakima Herald Republic (WA), 08 May 1988: Yakima--Mrs. Gladys Agnes Wales, 86, of Union Gap, WA, died Friday, May 6, 1988, in Parkside Nursing Home. She was born December 16, 1901, in Scotland, Arkansas, to John and Saray (Reynolds) Lindsey. She was raised and educated in Scotland, AR. She married Hugh Wales on January 2, 1923, in Scotland, AR. The family moved to Yakima in 1955 where Mrs. Wales worked as a nurses aid until retiring in 1963. She was also a housewife and homemaker. Mrs. Wales was a member of the Methodist Church, and her hobbies included gardening, raising flowers and being with her family on all occasions. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Louise Fisher of Yakima, WA, and Mrs. Doris Jean Cooper of Kenta, WA, two sons, Lindsey Wales of Yakima, WA, and John Wales of Selah, WA, eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Wales in 1971, by an infant daughter, Carolyn June Wales and by five brothers, Edgar, Homer, James, Troy and John Lindsey. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 9th, at 1:00 PM in the Keith & Keith 9th Avenue Chapel. Interment will be in West Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
