  John Barnfield owned the first cotton gin in Bowie, Montague Co., Texas. He was a farmer and Primitive Baptist Minister. He moved to Wilbarger Co, Texas in 1890, owned a farm in Fargo, Wilbarger, Texas. He is supposed to be buried in St. Joe near Wichita Falls, Texas.
