  When Perry and Mary Harper left the Borger, Texas area for Garden Grove, California Benny harper and his wife Lorraine went with them. Benny went to work on a tuna boat out of Long Beach, California that went all the way down off the coast of South America. In 1945 Benny was already living apart from Lorraine and his children and living with Aunt Mary and Uncle Perry. At some time in 1967 or 1968 Bennie left California and went to live with Aunt Mary in Van Horn, Texas. He died there in 1968 of lung cancer and is buried in Van Horn. Benny was 53 years of age.
