Born around 1831 in either North Carolina or South Carolina (census shows both) the first record i have is when he married Elizabeth Tomlin in 1855 in Coweta county, GA. I can document this because his son, my great grandfather Terry J, (Jackson) Reynolds was living with a Tomlin nephew late in life in Pike County, AR. Terry J. Is referred to in census records as Sr. And my grandfather Terry Joseph Reynolds as Rr. Even though we have strong family records to say that Sr. Was actually Terry Jackson Reynolds.
Wilson L. Reynolds had several children: Terry J. Reynolds b.1855, GA. D. 1945 AR., Mollie B. 1862 GA., Mattie B. 1864 GA., Sallie Reynolds Shugart b. 1865 AR. D.1932 GA.
The family moved to Pike County AR. Apparently between 1864 and 1865. I believe Wilson Reynolds enlisted in the Confederate Army 33rd Regiment Infantry and was discharged because of disability in 1863. That may explain the family’s move to AR. He apparently died while the family was living in AR. According to a dedication from the church for Elizabeth, they lived in AR. For about 10 Years.
Elizabeth returned to Coweta County GA. And is listed as a widow in the 1880 census.
I have seen Wilson listed as William Lionel Reynolds in another ancestry database with the same children, but I am fairly sure his name was actually Wilson from the sources. I am trying to find out more about the source of that database now. I don’t believe the Wilson L. Reynolds I am searching for is the Wilson Reynolds born in MA. About the same time (son of Micah Reynolds), because I found a grave site for that Wilson in MA.
