QUERY: I'm interested to see if anyone has a William Reynolds Jr/Sr, a Levinna Reynolds, or Orin Reynolds in their Family Trees. I would be interested in sharing information and comparing DNA.

- William Reynolds Sr and Jr are both listed in the book:
A Genealogy of James and Deborah Reynolds of North Kingstown, Rhode Island, and Descendants.
1st ed. Stephen C. Roth, compiler and editor
Note: Stephen Roth was at 1 time the Registrar for the Reynolds Family Association.

- Levinna and Orin were sai to be children of William Jr.

Circumstantial evidence and a DNA analysis I took are showing that William Jr. could be my GGG Grandfather, but I don't have anything conclusive yet that ties him to my GG Grandfather, Milton Reynolds. I'd like to see if I can strengthen the case for the relationship.

Here's some of what I have:

- DNA analysis is showing a possible 5th - 8th Cousin relationship between myself and various
people that can trace their lineage back to the Rhode Island Reynolds family.
- William Sr. was the son of Joseph Reynolds and Experience Davis (...listed in the Rhode Island Reynolds family).
- William Sr. b: 1777 Stephentown (Rensselaer) NY, moved to Adams (Brown) Co, Ohio abt 1802
- William Sr. married Esther Ruth Gardner abt. 1797 Rennsalaer NY.
- William Sr had the follwing children:
1. Gardner b: abt 1799
2. William Jr. b: abt 1801 in Renssellaer, NY
3. Henry b: abt 1805/1806
2. Lucy b: abt 1805/1806
5. Amarilla b: 22 Dec 1809
6. Elias b: c 1811
7. Ervin (or Irvin) b: 1812
8. Electa b: 1814

- Wiliam Jr. married Almira Brockway 28 Dec 1824
Almira was the daughter of Justus Brockway and Thankful Boss, also from Rensselaer NY. They also moved to Brown Co, Ohio.

- In 1834 William Sr. and Jr. were reported to have moved to Putnam County, Illinois. Then sometime after 1840 they moved to Ripley Co, Indiana.
- William Jr. was enumerated as William Runnels, a blacksmith, in the 1850 Census for North Madison, IN.
- We think William and Almira had the following children (only Levinna and Orin appear to be documented)

1. Milton b: abt 1828 d: bef 1856
Spouse: Nancy Ann Wise
2. Levinna b: 1831 d: 14 Dec 1917
Spouse: Edward Holmes
3. Unknown b: d:
4. Orin b: abt 1843 d:
- Milton Reynolds married Nancy Ann Wise in Ripley County, IN on 20 Apr 1848.
Note: Indiana law at the time required women to be married in their “home” County. This puts Nancy & her family from here. Their wedding was mentioned in the Madison (Jefferson County) Weekly Courier of May 24.

On 30 Jun 1856 Nancy married Joseph Brooks, in Hancock Co, Illinois. We don't know what happened to Milton.

- In 1860, William Jr (age 56), Almira (age 56), and Orin Reynolds (age 17) were enumerated in Benton Twp, Knox Co, Missouri.
- On 19 September 1916 Levinna Reynolds swore that she was 85, born 3 May 1831 at “Ripley County, Ohio”. She married Edward Holmes 18 January 1848 as Levinna Reynolds at “Bryansburg”, Indiana.
1. The Holmes (Edward and Levinna) show up as neighbors of William and Almira in the 1850 US Census for North Madison, Indiana
2. Milton and Nancy Ann (Wise) Reynolds are also shown in the same 1850 Census as neighbors of William and Almira too.
3. Milton and William are both listed as Blacksmiths.

- Levinna died Friday 14 December 1917 at age 86 years, 6 months, 12 days, having been born in Ohio to William Reynolds Jr. and “Alva” Brockway. Levinna was said to be “the last surviving member of her branch of the family, there being three brothers, all unnamed, (Milton? Orin? Unknown?), who preceded her in death.

So again, I'd welcome any help, suggestions, or information anyone is willing to share to help me conclusively link Milton to William Jr.

QUERY: Looking for ancestor information on my gg grandfather Rhode Reynolds. It's a pretty distinct name, but I can't find any information on Ancestry.com to carry me back further.

This is what I know:
Rhode Reynolds (could be S.R. Reynolds, maybe Shed Rhodessa Reynolds??) b. 1-24-1836, Fairfield County, SC d. 9-22-1924, Wood County, Tx married in 1867, Bullock County, AL to Elizabeth Arrington (or Mary Elizabeth Arrington). This is verified.

They had multiple children: John, William, Charles, James, Mattie, Cenie(Cenia), and my Great-Grandfather Samuel Rhodessa Reynolds.
Samueul Rhodessa Reynolds b. 1-17-1899 Wood County, Tx d. 11-1-1964 Wood County, Tx
married Bessie Lee McElyea. I have good information on Samuel and Bessie. They had one son, my grandfather - Joe M. Reynolds, deceased.

I am looking for two things: 1. the parents of my GG Grandfather and his family ancestry going back. His birthdate and place was verified on a application for Civil War Pension in 1921. Two affiants called him Rhode or Rhodes Reynolds. 2. Elizabeth Arrington Reynolds died maybe in Wood County, Tx, but there no Death Records I can check because of a courthouse fire around 1920 that destroyed a lot of records. So her proof of death verifying her parents would be nice to have.

Last Confirmed name I have is a Henry Hobby Reynolds B:Feb 5, 1808, D: March 13, 1878, Buried in the Dutch Reformed Church, Mt. Pleasant, Westchester NY. M: Maria Storms B: 1806 Newcastle NY. They Lived in North Castle, Westchester, NY.

I suspect Henry Hobby Reynolds parents to be Reuben Reynolds B:1782 D:1842 and Rebecca Hobby B:1786 D: 1853 . Rebecca's Father, Henry Hobby lived in North Castle, Westchester, NY, very near (if not the same place) where Henry H. Reynolds lived.

Reuben and Rebecca are buried Middle Patent Rural Cemetery , Westchester County NY

I really would like to know who Reuben's parents are, and some solid evidence, if any exists, that Henry H. is indeed their Son. I believe there is a connection to the Greenwich Reynolds, but not sure how, and a grt. uncle who started the tree many years ago has connection to Joseph Reynolds and Ruth Palmer, but I am unsure how.

His father is probably a John Reynolds who married a Sarah Jenkins, but John's parentage is in question. There is a bit of evidence to indicate that John may stem from the James and Deborah line of RI. I have recently had a close DNA match with another RFA member showing my Elisha to be a brother to her John Francis Reynolds.
