Texas Generals

The State of Texas provided a considerable number of officers who rose to the rank of brigadier general and were ultimately confirmed by the Confederate goverment in Richmond. There were a number who were appointed to general officer positions within the Trans-Mississippi Department late in the war when communications with Richmond were impossible or the central government could not act even though hostilities in the West required command positions to be filled. It is our pleasure to honor and commemorate these honorable men who served the Confederate States of America, of which Texas was a proud member.
